Launches Campaign on Indiegogo.com

Matilija Magic has just launched a major fundraising campaign on Indiegogo.com in conjunction with its fiscal sponsor Fractured Atlas. Fractured Atlas’s program enables any creative project owner to solicit funds from a wide range of sources-most notably government, foundation, corporate, individual and other philanthropic entities-that give only to nonprofit organizations with IRS tax-exempt status. This established program, coupled with IndieGoGo’s suite of online fundraising and audience-engagement tools, will provide artists with more opportunities to fund projects. “We are excited to be working with IndieGoGo on this initiative.” said Adam Huttler, Fractured Atlas’s Executive Director. “Crowdsourcing is one of the most important trends in fundraising today, and I’m thrilled that our fiscally sponsored artists will have an opportunity to leverage these tools.”

Matilija Magic is a feature length documentary film (currently in production) Directed by Jaesen Kanter of Aidem Entertainment and produced by Michele Bramlett in conjunction with the Poor Elijah Foundation about husband-and-wife duo Delaney & Bonnie Bramlett (D&B), who created some of the most distinctive and unique blue-eyed soul, rock, blues, country, and gospel music of the ‘60’s and ’70′s.

Art And Music Show To Benefit The Poor Elijah Foundation

Jimmy Messina Joins Michele Bramlett At The WAV In Ventura, California

VENTURA, CALIFORNIA (June 23, 2010) — Saturday, July 24^th, 2010. This art and music show is to benefit the Poor Elijah Foundation, the unveiling of  “Matilija Magic – The  Delaney & Bonnie Project” trailer, and the movement to induct Delaney & Bonnie and Friends into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Come join us at the WAV for an evening of “FUN” RAISING. Fine art, fine wine, hor’ d’overes, and live music!

3 p.m.– 10 p.m. at the WAV Theatre, 35 W. Thompson Blvd. Ventura California.

• Featuring art by Michele Bramlett and Jaesen Kanter, and debuting artwork by Jimmy Messina.

• Music performed by Johnny Smith and David Bell, Paull E. Rubin, Paul Kanter, Victor Vega & The Bomb and special guests.

Music legends Delaney & Bonnie Bramlett created some of the most distinctive and unique music of the early ’70s. Together their dynamic energy attracted Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Duane Allman, Billy Preston, Jimi Hendrix, Dave Mason, Leon Russell. It’s time to induct Delaney & Bonnie and Friends into the RRHOF.

The Poor Elijah Foundation works to “educate” the musician in the entertainment industry and provide financial assistance to working musicians who would otherwise slip through the cracks of the business.

Matilija Magic is now fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions in behalf of Matilija Magic are now tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Matilija Magic is a feature length documentary film (currently in production) about husband-and-wife duo Delaney & Bonnie Bramlett (D&B), who created some of the most distinctive and unique blue-eyed soul, rock, blues, country, and gospel music of the ‘60’s and ’70′s.

Directed by Jaesen Kanter and produced by Michele Bramlett in conjunction with the Poor Elijah Foundation, Matilija Magic is one of the most interesting and unique behind the scenes look at the music revolution, the sex drugs and rock n roll lifestyle that showed no signs of bigotry, consuming even the most innocent and gifted musicians.  The Delaney & Bonnie project takes you on a spiritual journey through one of the most historic periods of our time.  D&B were extremely influential, attracting a posse of high profile musicians who were in musical and spiritual transition. Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Duane Allman, Dave Mason, and Rita Coolidge were just a few of the many musicians dubbed “Friends” that were attracted to the magic of D&B.

This documentary will change the way you hear music, forever!

Aside from their recorded legacy, Delaney and Bonnie influenced many fellow musicians of their era. Most notably, Eric Clapton has said that “Delaney taught me everything I know about singing,” and Delaney has been cited as the person who taught George Harrison how to play slide guitar.
